Depending on the construction of the door there are two options here.

Place the bottom hardware hole 2 1 2 to 3 from the bottom of the door front.

Uppers and lowers unlike drawer cabinetry hardware placement for door cabinetry is much more subjective.
Then center it horizontally on the door frame.
For knobs we recommend the knob holes be centered horizontally on the door stile and on upper cabinets place knob holes 2 1 2 up from the bottom of the door.
A good rule of thumb is to center the hardware horizontally on the stile.
Well except for this rule.
This is a mistake however as you should actually move your cabinet door knobs a little further away vertically from the door s edge.
The hardware spacing for the wall cabinets should match the base cabinets.
For 5 piece cabinets like a shaker or any style that isn t one flat slab of wood the traditional placement is to center the knob in the corner of the face frame so that the knob is in the center of both the vertical and horizontal frame pieces.

On upper cabinets handles usually go in the lower corners so they are easy to reach.
The knob or pull can align with the rail or it could be higher or lower there are no rules.
