Must say i tried speakers from energy polk cambridge audio and boston and these def tech di 5 5r in ceiling speakers are much better then all of them.

Purchased a pair for medium sized space 20 x22 with vaulted 24 ceiling. The sound is excellent and fills the space. They easily handle the output from my yamaha rx a3010 9 2 system. While other in wall speakers fall short on sound quality and stealth the di 5 5 bps sets an impossibly high standard.

Very pleased with the definitive technology uewa di 8r round in ceiling speakers. The downside is that bipolar speakers can t quite achieve the pin point imaging of direct radiating speakers. The speakers are unobtrusive. The in wall speaker i chose for my front left center and right channels is the definitive technology di 5 5lcr 449 each which is part of the company s disappearing in wall series.

The loudest ceiling featured in this article is the definitive technology di 8r. For there size they are very strong and loud speakers. They are as easy to install as traditional flanged flush mount speakers and don t require custom sheetrock spackle skills to install yet they are practically invisible. I have been buying a variety of in ceiling speakers for my house monoprice kef klipsch etc.
